Who We Are:

This site is operated by the Partnership for Education, Democracy and Health in Haiti (PEDHH, a registered non-profit 501C 3 in the United States). PEDHH raises funds and material support for the educational and healthcare projects of the Aristide Foundation for Democracy in Haiti and its sister institution UNIFA.

The US Board consists of:

Michelle Karshan

Ira Kurzban, Esq.

Laura Flynn

Leslie Fleming

PEDHH has no paid staff. Board members and others assisting in these efforts do so on a voluntary basis. All funds raised by PEDHH go to Haiti to fund the projects described on this site.

FET MANMAM – Mother’s Day in Haiti
Every year on the last Sunday of May (Haitian Mother’s Day) the Aristide Foundation for Democracy, holds a special event to honor mothers. Sunday May 30 the AFD welcomed 3,500 women to the auditorium of the Foundation for a very special day of communion and solidarity-- to offer solace, and encouragement, and a chance to speak out to women representing mothers across Haiti. Mobile Schools
Beginning in late February the Aristide Foundation opened Mobile Schools, which served 1260 kids in 5 refugee camps in the earthquake zone. Read more here.
A Cathartic Easter
On Easter Sunday, Kolonb Dor, the choral and dance troupe of the Aristide Foundation offered a concert at the auditorium of the AFD, attended by 1250 people. The performance included at dramatic re-enactment of the earthquake and libera (opening of the doors to the next world) for the dead. Read More Here.
